Feeling flush

Dehydration is a major cause of fatigue. Eight large glasses of water a day can help cleanse your system and keep skin looking fresh. But don't gulp it all at once - you won't give your body a chance to use it and you will find yourself running to the loo every 5 minutes. Cut down on stimulants such as coffee, tea and alcohol as these sap your body of moisture.

Exercise excuses

Stop saying you're too tired to exercise - as well as helping your physique, exercise gives you more energy, improves sleep patterns and maintains good blood circulation and overall good health.

Try to do enough to get your heartbeat going faster for at least 20 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. Exercising in the morning will give you more energy throughout the day.

Early to bed

Sleep is great for skin and it's the best boost to your immune system too.
They say an hour of sleep before midnight is better than 2 afterwards.
Many of us try to catch up on our sleep at the weekend but wonder why we still feel tired and sluggish after 10 hours sleep. This is because the body does not cope well with irregular sleep patterns, try to limit this shift by going to bed 1-2 hrs later and getting up 1-2 hrs later, rather than crashing at 4am and getting up some time in the afternoon!

General tips!

Alcohol, in moderation, can help relieve stress. Up to two glasses of wine a day can also cut your risk of heart disease by up to a third.
A well-timed cup of coffee can do wonders before something important like an interview - research shows caffeine can improve our reactions times and general mental alertness.
Having a period is a good excuse to eat little and often. You also get full reign with pasta and potatoes as the key to controlling PMS is regulating your blood sugar (carbohydrates are converted to blood sugar).
